Student smiling by microphone and wearing headphones in recording studio

Over the summer, some talented Green Bay Area Public Schools students and staff came together to create a song to kick off the 2024-2025 school year.

Green Bay Southwest High School's Director of Choirs & Musical, Mr. Brandon Rockstroh began writing lyrics and working on the melody back in the spring of 2024. He worked with Family Engagement Coordinator Luis Franco-Toscano to find students who would showcase their talents through song and language.

Students worked with Mr. Rockstroh in quick rehearsal sessions before everyone came together at NWTC over two recording sessions. NWTC and Chris Kuborn were amazing community partners and they offered their recording studio, time and expertise to capture the students' performances.

Current and former students lent their time and talents to make this school year's theme come to life.

Thank you to the following GBAPS students: Jenny Duarte Castillo, Cheyanne Dukes, Amber Gabryel, Noah McKenzie, Kimberly Moua, Avery Moureau, Marce Santiago, Lucia Suarez, Neil Tubbs and Shouana Vang.
